THE BOB LUPONE FUND FOR ARTISTIC & AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT

The Bob LuPone Fund for Artistic & Audience Development supports new play development and outreach initiatives to develop new audiences at MCC Theater, the theater company Bob co-founded and continuously co-led beginning in 1986. After the passing of MCC’s co-founder and Co-Artistic Director, Bob LuPone, this fund was launched to honor Bob’s legacy by supporting the development of the next generation of theater makers and audience members who will shape the future of this artform we cherish, which was Bob’s passion and life’s work.

Since its inception, the Bob LuPone Fund has supported the development of several new plays & musicals, and innovative outreach that brought hundreds of first-time ticket buyers to MCC for productions like WOLF PLAY, BEES & HONEY, THE CONNECTOR, and TABLE 17.

“It is no surprise to anyone who knew Bob that his monumental impact on theater-making at MCC would live on beyond his passing. We are committed to nurturing Bob’s legacy through our mission of provoking conversations that have never happened and otherwise never would. It’s a mission that drove Bob’s artistic priorities and was at the heart of his unvarnished and lively interactions with audience members, whether they were at the theater for the first time or long-time supporters – for Bob, the theater was a place for everyone.”

The creation of the fund has allowed us to support developmental workshops and continue accessibility initiatives, including child-care matinees, additional sensory-friendly experiences, and other audience development activities.

Thanks to the generous support of the Charles & Lucille King Foundation gifts made to the fund are currently being matched dollar-for-dollar. Please consider making a contribution to The Bob LuPone Fund for Artistic & Audience Development today.
